What You Can Do For Now..
Dear Supporters of PPSMI,
PAGE is working on several ideas.
In the meantime, these suggestions can be carried out by you, to continue the momentum, before we make our next move. They are:
1 Go to www.transformation.gov.my, look for the education lab and make the request for PPSMI to continue for the many schools that want it;
2 Go to 1malaysia.com.my and write to the Prime Minister about wanting PPSMI to continue in the schools that want it;
3 Go to muhyiddin.blogspot.com (subject to confirmation) and write to the Deputy Prime Minister/Education Minister about PPSMI for schools that want to continue;
4 Raise a resolution at the forthcoming PIBG AGM to retain PPSMI in your school;
5 Elect a PTA Chairman who is supportive of PPSMI;
6 Get your school and your child's school Alumni to write to the Prime Minister supporting PPSMI; and
7 Bring a memorandum supporting PPSMI to the Prime Minister when Parliament resumes on 15 March 2010.
Please help us spread the word as we need the numbers to succeed.
Thank you.

Transformation website does not allow comments. Cannot find education lab
Have made some comments in 1Malaysia website yesterday but not published yet after one day
DPM's blog seems to belong to an Indonesian and not DPM
Dear Datin, I read you article in The Star today about the obvious flaws in the new policy and I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately as a Chinese I really feel like I don't have any say since this is like a political fight for Malay votes. I am writing to thank you for your relentless fight for our children's education and their future. Do keep up the good work and I hope you succeed.
Get the message from MOE as

So, what is/are the functions of PTA? What benefit do we get from it? Might as well, school principals/headmasters call only the ignorant or YES parents for AGM.
There is not much time left before our children are brain bashed into not being in tune with the rest of the global world.
I think less than 25% of Malaysian parents support the PM & DPM in the teaching of Science & Maths in BM. A national referendum would clear the doubt.
Another option is to home tutor our children and get them to take the Cambridge University's external certificate.
Another is to get them to learn Science & Maths on the Internet in English. We could start an organization to certify them from Std One to Form Five. A daily class of one hour for each subject would suffice. Then when our children go overseas they would be on par with the best of the world. Check out Singapore.
Let those who do want to learn in their mother/father tongue do so. But as Malay, Chinese & Tamil can be used in schools, so too we, as parents are the best deciders to help our children use English in all aspects of commerce, education & leisure.
We are born free, to decide what is best for our childrens' future.
Our votes are neutral and they can be used to vote whom we can trust.
Even Tun MM has changed from the ultra Education Minister he portrayed during the seventies when he forced BM on us for all subjects. Even English was taught in BM !!!
But with intelligent hindsight he cried us into learning Science & Maths in English.
Othewise there is going to be an elitist Animal Farm in Malaysia.
Krismalaysia says that he thinks less than 25% want to have science and math to be taught in BM. More than 90% of parents in schools thru the PIBG (bold enough to initiate the move) have voted to continue with PPSMI. MOE or whoever responsible is not listening. We keep saying that to have a referendum. No one up there dares to agree. Now PIBG cannot even talk about not agreeing with policies but it is ok to discuss pro policies. What we want is to be given the option to continue PPSMI. For those who still want the 2 subjects to be taught in BM then they can do so but not for the schools with majority who want PPSMI.
I see that we have 102 followers in this blog. If everyone were to write to the press, I am sure more people out there will be also encouraged to join this cause for our children and our nation. Just do the maths, one letter per month from each one of us. Let's not just leave it to Datin alone writing to the press. Personally I have written to the press numerous times and have my letters published (but some were not).
Thank you for correcting me, CPLee. Our PTA has tabood the PPSMI subject. But it defies logic to tax us and not allow us the basic right to get the best education for our children. Just as Tun MM keeps on saying that the language of English for Maths & Science is different and our children need to think in English to benefit at the tertiary level.
All the latest research is delivered in English and the Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka is unable to translate all the latest findings in BM. I remember the Perak Sultan, when he was the Lord President, telling us that out of 600 books in English, only one gets translated in BM. The vast pool of knowledge is lost to the one who only reads in BM. Please form a national referendum before 2012 or compile a dossier of names who support PPSMI. I intend to create a weblog and need all of your support to be brave enough to list your names for our PM & DPM to know the number of voters who do want, need, must have PPSMI. You can teach Maths & Science in Malay, Chinese & Tamil but not in English? What common sense is this. Anglophobia? But our future generations are in danger of not keeping up with the rest of the world. The time is NOW !!! Che Det - HELP !!!
Krismalaysia,
I would encourage that you write to the newspapers to share your thoughts and support of PPSMI. Datin's letter in today's NST is an eye opener
